Feather gazed up at the massive statue in reverence. "Could this really be...Aurich? Is it possible?," His mouth was sagging open, so he quickly shut it, as to not look foolish to anyone who might have been nearby. "Andrew, can you help me with the decoration? Just set it around the statue's neck."
I hefted the large necklace, marveling at its gilded surface, the shining pearls, the glimmering rubies, the sparkling diamonds. The enormous loop of polished silver, dazzling with its engravings, set in the gold like a commandment. I stole a peek at the outside to read what it said, as Feather hadn't shown me beforehand.
"Here lies Aurich, never to awake. Sleep eternal, in stone's cold embrace."
I picked it back up, then started climbing the gargantuan statue's tail. I pushed past my fear of heights as I ascended the body of the statue, soon reaching the neck. With an effort, I wrapped the ring around the statue's throat, impressed at
Cry of the TakenI sat on my bed, playing Pokemon White Version. I had just beaten the Elite four, and was searching for my favorite Pokemon, Houndour. Combing every route, searching every cave. All to no avail. All too quickly, my team was nearly all fainted, with only Razor still over 1/4 health. For some odd reason, my search put me closest to the starting town, so I went there. As I stepped into the town, the game glitched on me! Pixels went different colors, the screen warped slightly, and the music skipped and cut. After it stopped, I saved, not wanting to lose all that I had done. I stepped into my house, then the character's mother spoke. This was very odd, as she seemed to have no part in the game after the Elite Four. "H0ney, THere iS s0mthinf 1n yuor r00m fro youu too se!" After that little statement, I walked into the room. As it made the transition, it glitched AGAIN! After the glitching stopped, I saw a houndour in front of the bed. It made its cry, then actually went INTO my character! S

"Shit, Taki...we lost them? As in, they got turned?!"
"Yes, Andrew, that's right. They've been turned using a more advanced neural control system then we've ever seen. I have no idea how that Bubbly little FOOL kept it hidden for so long...we need to get them back! They know too much for our good! If they were to be questioned, all our secrets would come out! Well, except for the secrets of your guns...which brings me to why I called you. I need you to design a weapon that will affect ONLY the chips inside them. This will be the toughest mission for you so far. Heavy resistance, Toughened security, and you may have to fight them. Now, get to work!"
With that, Taki showed me the door, and I quickly got to work on my biggest challenge. Designing the body wasn't the hard part...although it DID pose a problem. Then, I had to figure out what it would fire as a projectile! I didn't want to fry their brains, but it HAD to be a strong enough charge to disab

CRACK! CRASH! CLACK!
Samuel and I ducked as stones, cans, apples, and other assorted objects were thrown at us. I stumbled as a stone struck me in the leg, but I kept my balance. Windows shattered as misguided stones hit them, glass raining down. We dodged between and around people that stood in front of us. We heard swears and insults being hurled at us as we ran from the ever growing mob. We searched around frantically for a way out, anything to escape the horde. Suddenly, Samuel got blown into a small hallway, and dragged me with him! Just as we fell into it, flames sprung up, blocking the way, and protecting us from the mob. I heard a chittering sound, and when I looked, I saw a large raccoon staring at Samuel. I noticed almost immediately that the creature's form rippled in the wind. It chittered again, and Samuel nodded, almost as if he could understand. A conversation soon sprung up. However, a bright flash caught my atten

Chapter 2: Winds of Change
The walk to school was uneventful, and I couldn't see my friend anywhere. The first couple of periods went well, but they were relatively boring. Unfortunately, the good day was not to last. Jack soon started irritating me, in the way only he could. I could feel my temper rising, and a strange heat spreading through me. He kept running his mouth, prompting me to start towards him, and, in the red-tinted vision of my anger, I could swear I saw flames roiling around my clenched fists. Jack backed up surprisingly fast for his girth, pure terror on his face. I stepped closer, ready to strike, when all of a sudden, a chill wind blew through the amphitheater, knocking out the flames. I turned to the source of the unnatural wind, only to see Samuel, hands outstretched, as if to throw something. Jack ran, not looking back, and the people around us stared at us like we were freaks. I realized I hadn't been hallucinating when I had seen the flames, and I
